Too Little Too Late

So Obama is pissed at AIG for spending their bailout money on bonuses for executives. Haven't we heard this story already? If you look back a few posts, you'll see that I commented on this exact same atrocity. While small businesses and the general consumer are struggling, along with many of these big businesses that are getting the bailouts, the only people who seem to be getting anything in return are the CEO's who are stealing our money.

I guess we, as a country full of lazy people who won't get off the couch to save our own asses, can just keep complaining about it. As my Dad always says, if this kind of crap was happening when he was growing up, his generation would have had Washington burned to the ground a long time ago.

  1. Hi Liz, I don't usually spam other people's blogs but I just wanted to let you know that your posts have been very interesting and although I know you can't share much of that you are doing with the cases, you are welcome to read and comment at "Justice Café: News and discussion about the cases of Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson." any time.

  2. Seriously? I'm supposed to get upset about this? After watching democrats on television telling me the 8.8 billion dollars in earmarks was only 1% of the last budget so it was no big deal?

I'm supposed to what, forget Geithner was the architect of the AIG bailout and that the current CEO who green lighted the bonuses was the guy put in charge by the government after the bail out?

What's the best way to rob a bank?

    Own it.

They got the money with NO STRINGS ATTACHED.

The bonuses were merit based, as some departments STILL MAKE MONEY, and lots of it. What the hell is wrong with awarding employees who generate billions of dollars of business?

The fact that they are NOT generating billions of dollars in business. Hence the bailout money that WE as taxpayers are giving them. And it's not the employees who are getting the bonuses. It's the execs.

This is not a democrat/republican fight. It's a nation fight. One major problem with our society is that we put on our blinders and just try to find out which party is to blame. Don't blame a party. Blame the person/people responsible.

Yes, the best way to rob a bank is to own it. But that is not the issue I'm talking about.

  4. Oh, and just in case you forgot, that government appointed CEO, the one that green lighted the bonuses, he was Bush appointed. If you want to make it a dem/rep battle, make sure you pick a side.
